Experience Peace of Mind with Buyer Protection
Enjoy finding your favorite items with added confidence, thanks to Buyer Protection.
When you pay by credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa, or others):
Your purchase is safeguarded under UK consumer protection laws. Payments made with a credit card between £100 and £30,000 are protected by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. This means you can claim a full refund if goods are not delivered, are faulty, or if the business defaults or scams. Debit card payments can also be protected through your bank’s chargeback scheme, allowing you to request a refund if the product or service is not provided as agreed. Claims can be made up to six years after the purchase.
When you pay via PayPal:
PayPal offers Buyer Protection that covers items that are not delivered or significantly not as described. In disputes, you can file a claim with PayPal’s Resolution Centre to seek a refund. However, using PayPal usually means you forgo the legal protection under Section 75, unless you pay through PayPal Credit, which retains similar protections. PayPal’s protection is policy-based and depends on their specific rules.
In summary:
Credit cards (Mastercard, Visa): Protected by law (Section 75).
Debit cards:Covered mainly through chargeback options.
PayPal: Protected via PayPal Buyer Protection program, which can be highly effective but is policy-based, not a statutory guarantee.
